
Dental Nurse/Receptionist Job

We are looking for a Part-time Dental Nurse required to join friendly our team. We are an award winning mixed FD training practice. Excellent Hygienist, therapist and support staff with a great working environment. We provide general dentistry, advanced restorative, implants, anterior alignment orthodontics, endodontics, periodontics, facial aesthetics and conscious sedation.
Purpose of job:
To carry out a full range of duties set out by the GDC scope of practice for dental nurses, including but not limited to:
· Assisting the clinician during a full range dental procedure
· Preparing and maintaining the clinical area
· Decontamination and infection control
· Supporting and communication with patients
· Work as a dynamic and effective team member to ensure patients are receiving excellent care
· Accurate record keeping
· Liaise with suppliers, laboratories, and colleagues to ensure smooth running of the day
The main duties of the successful applicant are:
· Working closely with a dentist delivering a high standard of dental care
· Supporting the clinician to deliver dental procedures in a safe and caring environment
· To work as part of a team to ensure the clinical environment is organised and prepared in a timely manner
· To follow and abide by the practices SOP (standard operating procedures) and policies
· To maintain strict patient confidentiality at all times
· To uphold the practices core values at all times
Criteria
Qualifications and knowledge
Essential
- NEBDN qualification in dental nursing or equivalent qualification
- GDC registration
- Up to date CPD records and PDP
- Previous CPR/BLS training
Desirable
Any additional qualifications:
- Sedation
- Oral health educator
- Radiography
- Implant or orthodontic nursing
- ILS training
Experience
Essential
- 2 years dental nursing experience
Desirable
- Experience using Exact SOE
- Working within COVID 19 restrictions. FFP2/3 fit tested
- Reception experience
- Four handed dentistry
- Experience of nursing for surgical procedures
- Stock control and ordering supplies
Skills and attributes

- Able to organise and manage their own patient diary and plan ahead
- Great communication skills that can be used within the practice but also to be used when communicating with laboratories and suppliers
- Good knowledge of dental abbreviation and terminology
- Ability to assist with clinical photography
- Efficient time management and ability to prioritise effectively
- Confident with IT
- High standard of cross infection knowledge and procedures
Desirable
- Knowledge and/or experience of Invisalign and aesthetic dentistry
